2 Year Olds 

Group Collage with Red Theme

 SUPPLIES  INSTRUCTIONS

 1.  Large sheet of white paper

 1.  Put large sheet of paper on the wall at the children's level
 2.  Glue  2.  Ensure all the children are wearing smocks
 3.  Red materials from home

 3.  Have the children take turns gluing the materials: paper, yarn, and pictures

 4.  Red yarn  on to the paper
 5.  Red paper  4.  Do the activity in the middle of teaching the color.  Put the collage where it
 6.  Pictures of red objects  can be seen each day by the children and parents if applicable to reinforce
 7.  Paint smocks  the teaching.
 8.  Paint brushes  

This encourages group activity, team work, shapes and colors.  Any color can be used as the theme.

 

3 Year Olds

Stocking Wish List

 SUPPLIES  INSTRUCTIONS 
1.  Red Construction paper  1.  (Adult) Cut the construction paper in the shape of a stocking.
2.  Cotton   2.  Give each child one stocking.  Direct and guide children to put glue across 
   the top of the stocking and put on cotton.  Demonstrate. 
3.  Glue  3.  Have children pick pictures from the precut pictures.  Guide the children in
4.  Precut pictures of toys   gluing the pictures to their stockings. 
5.  Glitter   4.  Have the children put small "dots" of glue on their stocking,  then
   sprinkle with glitter.

This activity encourages creative thinking, exercises motor skills, and direction following.

4 Year Olds

Valentine Dog Card

SUPPLIES   INSTRUCTIONS
 1.  Glue  1.  Draw large sized hearts (2) on the white construction paper and have the children cutout.
 2.  Scissors  2.  Draw medium hearts (3) on the red construction paper and have the children cutout.
 3.  Wiggly Eyes  3.  Draw small hearts and have anadult cutout. ( too small for the kids)
 4.  Valentine verse for inside the card  4.  Give each child one folded sheet of pink paper.  Direct them to put glue at the bottom
 5.  Pink construction paper  of the card and place large heart point up on the glue.  (Demonstrate)
 (Full sheet)  5.  Direct them to put glue on the top of the card and place other large heart point down
 6.  Red construction paper  over the other heart. (Demonstrate)
 7.  White construction paper  6.  Glue two medium hearts to the top of the large heart (ears), and one medium heart on
 8.  Black constructionpaper  the side of the bottom large heart (tail). 
   7.  Give each child two small hearts and glue them under each ear point side down. 
   8.  Have the children glue the wiggly eyes on the two black hearts.
   9.  Have the children place remaining small heart on theside of the bolltom heart.
   10.  On the inside of the card, glue the Valentine verse on the right side.

Reinforces direction skills and the colors white, pink, red, and black.
